1 Aloe vera gel with or without the use of pomegranate juice
Aloe vera has a cooling quality and that is why it is used for burns but taken internally it also has a cooling effect on the bladder which is hot. Adding pomegranate amplifies this cooling effect.
2 Application of castor oil to the lower abdomen
Castor taken internally is heating but applied externally to the skin from the pubic bone to the belly button has a cooling and pacifying effect to the hot bladder of IC. Directly applying castor oil to the skin with a cooling aroma such as mint, sandalwood, khus, jasmine, or lavender is medicinal.
In this diagram there is shown specific bladder points that can be massaged with the essential oils selected above .
The 2 points in the midline are 1 midway between the belly button and 2 the pubic bone and the other is just above the pubic bone
The other points are midway between the midline and the lateral sides of the abdomen on a line with the points 1 and 2 above
Apply gentle pressure to these “bladder points” and go deeper until you encounter mild discomfort and then stay on the point until the discomfort subsides and then move onto the next point
There are also three other bladder points 1 on the inside of the elbow crease 2 two points on the ankle on the inner and outer aspect of the ankle behind the prominent bone
